*Squeaaaals* I am back! Yes, as expected, I blew my expected budget and had to change with the very nice and thrifty Kailing. I must say, anyone that marries her is really very lucky. This gal can cook, doesn't throw a tantrum, spends money wisely and is very neat... All that I am NOT! But too bad, she's taken. :P
Anyway, back to my trip. This is going to sound reeeeal bad, but its true... I enjoyed my trip so much without the boy coming along. hiakzz.. only that I started to miss him during the last day, because there wasn't anyone to carry my stuff for me. I am evil. No really, I did miss him. heh..
Let's talk about our trip. I realised some things. 1) Teachers , be it trainees or full-fledge teachers like to go to Bangkok. I met 2 colleagues and 2 fellow trainees. And I don't even bump into them in Singapore! 2) Taxi-drivers are getting really bolder. It rained these few days and they demanded 100 baht / person instead of going by meter!!! That makes 400 baht! I'm so glad Alec scolded him. But there are some nice taxi-driver though. The one that drove us to Sampeng Lane was a Chinese uncle who was very friendly and gave us some recommendations for lunch. :) 3) Twin Tower hotel is such a nice place. Excellent service and they are so polite. Not that sleazy as compared to my previous stay most probably because it was close to Patpong. I will definitely stay there again IF I go Bangkok again. hehe... (yes, stop rolling your eyes now) 4) Bring an umbrella! It floods really badly sometimes.
Thurs 15/9 Day 1 We went MBK and Siam Paragon. Two gals. This made me realise that it was actually quite safe to travel in Bangkok. *smirks* And a lightbulb lits. I can just grab a gf or two and we can go shopping! No bored looking bfs to say 'Are you done?' ; 'You sure you wanna buy MoRE?' UGHZ Its fun shopping at Siam Paragon for lingerie. They give you this oh-so-sweet looking basket that is lined with black lace. That is just so *pretty*, should have taken a picture. Best of all, if your boy is waiting for you, there are seatS!!! Right smack in the middle of the lingerie department. Good for him to rest his tired feet and feast his eyes.
After meeting up with my neighbours for the next 4 days, went to Memorial Night Market otherwise known as something something Put. OK, I'm sorry I will check with Miss Jane. Its a night market, stuff isn't that trendy, but I still bought two clocks. Why does a person need 2 clocks? Who know? Jane bought 2 as well.
Friday 16/6 Day 2
Bobae Market / Tower
This shopping trip is panties day! We bought packs, yes, you heard me right.. PACKS of panties ( each pack had about 6-10 pieces). This is what happens when you get 3 gals, 2 of which are lingerie freaks. Yes we only have one *ahem* butt, yet there are 365 days in a year you know. The place is good for those who wish to buy wholesale underwear (like ME) and cheap clothing. Nothing trendy at all, you would wish to skip this place if you are not interested in buying really cheap underwear. However, if you are looking for clothes for your parents and young children, this is a good place to buy them wholesale.
Pratunam Market / Platinum Fashion Mall
Walked around Pratunam and realised that there wasn't anything much to buy. Shops were closing so we went over to Platinum Fashion Mall. Shop in the cool comfort of air-con and escape the smelly drains found at Pratunam. I wasn't really into clothes this time round so I probably felt that I didn't miss much in Pratunam. But this is still a good place to find rather trendy and pretty tops, provided you are not as big-sized as me. (Hey! I'm working on it.. really!)
MBK
Had dinner there, some Korea-styled BBQ dinner. Very yummy, but I wished that they had more vegetables. Free topping up of crysanthemum / green tea though. Excellent service. They should do this in Singapore and I'm sure they will see an increase in sales.
Sat 17/6 Day 3
Chinatown / Sampeng Market / Yaorawat
Rave rave rave for this place because I found my containers that I can use to put my piggies in and share with all my lovely friends!! :) Scroll down to the bottom for pictures. Guess how many I bought? 10? 20? 50? No! 96! *Beams in delight*
Not exactly dirt cheap and the covers are not flat. Still, I love them! Didn't get as many earrings as compared to previously, it boils down to the reason that sometimes when you see too many, it doesn't look that good anymore. I do sort of regret not getting from the shop that sells minimum 2 dozen earrings. *sniffs* Got another earring stand and I don't know why. But its only $2. hehe...
Patpong
Went for a massage that was really good. Because it wasn't along the main street, we had to walk to the back of the shop house. It felt rather scary at first and we had to climb up and up and up. Yeap, we did climb to the 4th storey I think. Or was it the 3rd? Anyway,I tried their foot massage and it came with a free back massage. I didn't feel any soreness in my feet anymore at all even after all the walking + shopping. Must be the Papillio. No wonder nothing beats the real thing. Remind me not to buy any imitation bag. hehe.. Walked around and went into Watson the 3rd time in 2 days. Yep, I wish Singapore's Watson's is as interesting as the ones there.
Sun 18/6 Day 4
Wow, is it day 4 already?! Went to the all-famous Chatuchuk market. Bad me had a lousy tummy and had to keep on looking for a washroom. Now I can totally understand how my boy felt when we went Batam and he had to visit the toilet of every single shopping centre that we went to. hehe... I am so sorry for throwing a tantrum. :P
I'm sure everything that can be said about Chatuchuk (JJ market) has been said so I shall not comment more. I did buy a very nice bag. Here's the story of the bag...
You spy a very special looking bag with loads of lace on it. Walks into the shop and shows it to Jane. She grabs it and squeals with excitement. "So pretty! how much is it?" The SA says "990 baht". Face falls. That is kind of expensive. (When you are in Bangkok, anything that is above 199 baht is expensive)You look around for cheaper alternatives. Ah, an expensive looking bag. "That looks like an elephant" Alec says. You reply "Unique, I like!" Asks the salesgal, "How much?" "990 baht" "Buy 2?" "Buy 2 900 baht" What the...? "No discount?" "No discount." Walks out of shop crest-fallen. Thinks furiously how much is 900 baht in Sing dollars. Will you buy that bag if its that price in Singapore? Will you regret it? No, why are you walking further and further away from the shop!! You ask Jane "Are you still thinking of the bag?" She answers "Yes" "Let's just buy it!" You suggests. "Don't regret!" She grabs Alec and walks back to the shop. Grins excitely and forks out 900 baht.
It is FINALLY YOURS!
Started to rain heavily.. It is a sign that we should stop shopping. Grabbed a cab and went to Reflections hotel for our lunch. Went back and proceeded to Suan Lum after watching The Terminal. Bought 2 mugs, one Tweety Bird and one Bugs Bunny. Why these two? *Smiles secretly*

if anyone can drown in pigments? Yes I admit it, I am a pigment freak. I hoard pigments just for fun, never (ok, seldom) using them and I keep on getting more!! But being the generous Leo that I am (ahem...) I love to share with people that are my good friends! So if you are interested, just drop me a comment and prices are always negotiable. *winks*
Firstly, my Sweetscents pigments. I got them from Ebay and shipping was quite fast. Comes with a great choice of colours, especially my favourite Greens!
Next, more Twisted Fayte pigments! They have appointed a Singapore distributor, and I must say she is very sweet and nice. Excellent customer service as well! *Thumbs up* Got more shimmer shouffles this time, I really like them as they bring out the colours in the pigments.
Before I choke everyone with flecks of glittery dust, my MAC pigment collection. Took me 2 years to get this far... but it will grow I promise. hehe..
And my Grand Finale.. please don't faint... my 1 oz packetS (note the S) of Sweetscents pigments that I swapped for. Yes I know.. I will take 5 lifetimes to finish using this.
It came in a box...
The blues...
The greens... ( I couldn't find enough space to squeeze everything in)
Buffet anyone?
Yes.. so if you are interested in any of the colours (especially those in the big containers), Please please pleaseee leave me a comment. You will get your goods and any purchase above $10 get a free sample! A MAC eyeshadow costs $25, you can get 10 colours from me at that price! Who can EVER finish using a MAC eyeshadow? *winksss*
